Description:
A superb Colt 1911 professionally restored to it's original new condition. Colt letter included (Shipped to Portland Oregon, Feb. 1917). With WWI two tone pinned Mag with lanyard loop in excellent condition with old wear marks. 1911 collectors have examined this piece and some claim that it is in original condtion. Some of the points that support that claim.  Edges are sharp, incuding the beveling. No evidence of buffing. No dishing of the screw and pin holes.Only minor, minor handling wear. Proper bluing, which passes the black lamp test, and is the original "dull blue" of the 1917. Really not dull but was named so after the pre 1917 bright blue.  No covered over pitting or marks. The roll die markings are clear and have the orginal  broken die letters and numbers that were observed at that time. Original barrel with the proper 1917 proof marking (Mirror bore). Inspector marks and machine marks on the inside of slide and frame show no sign of wear. The metrics (measurements) are all exactly as listed in Charles Clauson's book (45 Service Pistol, Mod. 1911-1911A1). No metal lost or removed. The Colt walnut grips have minor wear and are correct in measurements. The action is fine and tight. The gun is unfired. Please ask questions. 3 day non firing inspection. C&R OK. Buyer pays all shipping. $40 US priority mail in the US.   Lay-a-way plans available.
