The pre-64 Winchester Model 88 was made from 1955 to 1963, with approximately 284,000 manufactured. The rifles were fitted with a 22 inch barrel, one-piece walnut stock with diamond cut checkering, and were chambered in either .243 Win., .284 Win., .308 Win., or .358 Win.. This gun is as described and is chambered in .243 Winchester. It is in fine condition, retaining about 97% of its original blue finish, with most thinning/loss on the pistol grip cap and sling swivel studs and swivels. The stock retains about 90% of its original finish, with assorted handling marks and scuffs. It appears to have a plastic after market Winchester marked butt-plate. The front sight hood is also a repro replacement. The bore is bright, with sharp rifling, and the action functions perfectly.
