Japanese Type 99 "Long".
This very uncommon rifle is the transition between the Type 38 and the ubiquitous Type 99 "Short" rifle.
The rifle is complete with, Original monopod, anti-aircraft lead arms, dust cover and cleaning rod.
95+ original deep blue finish, stock has the normal small handling scuffs and dings, nothing major.
If it were not ground and the original dust cover were numbered to the gun it would be as close to perfect as I have seen.
Most of these I have encountered in 40+ years of collecting, have been worn out mismatched, missing parts, with
little or no finish. They had been reduced to training rifles or school guns early in their careers.
A truly serious Japanese rifle collection can not be called complete without a Type 99 "Long' rifle.
It would be difficult to up grade from this example.
