2017 INVENTORY REDUCTION PROMOTION
The Rigby Big Game model is built on the newly manufactured Magnum Mauser action, which is based on the classic and time-tested Model 98 design. Many aspects of the original rifle, including the much admired and copied extractor and the three-position flag safety, have been retained. Today, just as was done a century ago, barreled actions are supplied by Mauser, then assembled into superb hand-finished rifles by master craftsmen at the Rigby workshop in London. Like the originals, these rifles carry London proof marks. The buyer of this rifle will also be registered in the original 'Rigby book' with your name being included among the legends of Big Game hunting and Royalty.
Available in Single or Double Square Bridge versions, the Big Game offers professional and sporting hunters a more moderately priced alternative to our London Best custom rifles. The Single Square Bridge style is the PH’s rifle of choice. Available in .416 and .450 Rigby calibres, this model of the Big Game is designed for use with express sights only. The action is fitted with the classic three-position flag safety and a 22-inch barrel. Unloaded, the rifle weighs 10 pounds 8 ounces; the length of pull is 141/2 inches, including a rubber recoil pad.
The Double Square Bridge model in stock is chambered in .375 H&H (.416 Rigby calibres also available) and, with its lightweight 24-inch barrel, this rifle is ideally suited for adding a premium scope.. The horizontal Winchester-style safety catch accommodates a variety of scope-mounting systems on the machined action bridges. Weight of this rifle is 10 pounds, unloaded, and the length of pull, including the red rubber recoil pad, is 14½”.
The Big Game rifle features the classic Rigby design features, including a robust, ergonomic stock shape with a higher comb for better fit and absorption of recoil; plasma nitriding on all exposed metal surfaces for a tough but attractive anti-glare and rust-resistant finish; Rigby express sights with a single fixed Vee and two folding leaves (sighted for 65, 150 and 250 yards) dovetailed into the quarter-rib; and a Rigby-pattern magazine floor plate that allows the .416 rifle to fit four rounds in the magazine and another in the chamber. With hand-engraved finishing touches, case-hardened recoil bars and a heat-blued extractor, this rifle is an exceptional value and a benchmark in modern sporting firearms manufacturing.
The in stock rifle includes Rigby factory 30mm rings (1" also available).
