Earlier first type illustrated on page 49 of Scott Meadows excellent book “U.S. MILITARY HOLSTERS AND PISTOL CARTRIDGE BOXES. Very nice unrestored condition with the belt loop a very probable Confederate repair and the muzzle plug missing long ago. Otherwise fine. Found in Southern Virginia with a Colt 1851 Navy in it. Very scarce.
