Description:
Model 99 G Take-down in 300 Savage caliber. All matching #'s including the wood, crack-free, with great checkering. 24" barrel locks-up tight to the action and has an outstanding bore, rifling and chamber. Action interior is as clean and crisp as the outside of the rifle. This is as solid and blemish-free a model 99 as one could hope for. Of course, it HAS existed for 80 years, so there ARE small scattered handling marks and nicks, as can be seen in the pictures. There's a scratch on the left of the tang but is NOT a crack. We had the stock removed to confirm its intact. There are also some small "filled" spots visible on the wood; we're told the factory used a lacquer stick to fill imperfections before the rifles shipped. There's some thinning blue right behind the muzzle and maybe some thinning on sharp/high edges, but thats IT. Case colors are vibrant and intact, only getting a bit muted toward the boss, and there's even the factory varnish remaining on the inside and protected areas of the lever. Serial #3472xx.
