Known as the "The Gunmaker of York� Thomas Horsley guns are highly respected. Thomas Horsley was an innovator and successful entrepreneur at the dawning of the breech loading gun trade in England. They remained in business from 1833 to the 1950\'s
This shotgun is the first year production in 1861 and was certainly a pin fire at that point. On the rib of the barrel is inscribed "Converted by John Wilkes Leeds" which tells us it was converted from pin fire to center fire by this well-known gunmaker. Converting a pin fire gun to center fire was no small job so in general only the high quality guns were converted. They did the job so well I cannot tell it was even done!
Beautifully restored this Horsley is ready to see time afield once again.
