Description:
For sale is a beautiful hammer gun made in 1882 by W.C. Scott. This 12-bore bar-action sidelock has rebounding hammers and is fitted to lovely 30" damascus barrels with very good bores. The game rib does have a dolls head extension to aid in a solid lock up. The stout barrels are balanced by beautiful piece of walnut that's been fashioned into a splinter forend paired with a rounded half pistol grip. I especially like the latch on the forend... lots of charater! The stock has recently been nicely refinished and the checkering recut. The finish was very well done filling in all pores and the checkering is very fine (around 28 lines per inch), This gun also has Scott's patented adjustable hook so it can easily be tightened to adjust for wear. Very fine scroll engraving covers all of the action and parts and makes for a beautiful shotgun! The barrels have min wall thickness of .044 so they are good to go!!! The perfect gun for sporting clays, game shooting, and your next vintage shooting event!
