This carbine was manufactured in 1890, making it a true antique. Coined “the gun that won the West”, it saw plenty of hard use all over the United States, but most famously in the West during the latter quarter of the 19th century. This piece sports a short (19 inches) octagonal barrel, whereas the standard 1873 carbine was manufactured with a 20 inch round barrel. This would have made for a very handy weapon to have on a horse or around the homestead. It is chambered in the desirable .32-20. There are many different variations of the 1873, making this a diverse area of collecting. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is octagonal and 19 inches in length. Caliber: .32-20 Bore is in great condition and the firing mechanism works very well. Overall condition as seen in photos.
