One of the Primary Civil War Revolvers
Here we present an antique Civil War Starr Arms Co. S.A. 1863 Army Revolver, made from 1863-1865 in New York. Only 32,000 were made. Counterintuitively, the Starr Single Action Army actually postdated the same company’s Double Action revolver, the latter being rather complex and expensive. The Starr is a significantly rarer Civil War revolver for the collector to obtain than either the Colt 1860 Army or the Remington New Model Army.
This is a well-made single action revolver. All serial numbers match. Inspector marks are visible over the metal surfaces and both inspector cartouches are visible on either side of the grips.
