Description:
Serial #C93262, .45 ACP, 5" barrel with an about good bore that has light-moderate pitting within the grooves. This is a 1917 manufactured pistol with correct component parts and retains 95% plus of the original blue finish which has silvered slightly along the exposed edges and projections. There is some mild scratch marks on the left side of the frame around the slide latch which has a smooth mottled brown patina at the base. Likewise, there is a pale gray/brown patina forming on the flat mainspring housing, lightest towards the lanyard loop. Interestingly, the frame is marked with the government "G" at 6 o'clock relative to the disconnector. According to Clawson, the "G" was only applied to government inspected pistols and its presence on a commercial Model 1911 is an indicator that it was rejected for a minor issue that did not preclude its use in a civilian market pistol. The walnut double-diamond grips are in fine condition and have light wear on either side and a few small handling marks here and there. A single two-tone magazine is included and the pistol rates fine condition overall; this is a lovely pistol with lots of original finish remaining that has very little wear. {Ref.
