Description:
#2472 British (?) Large Flintlock military pistol, 9” barrel of approx 60-caliber, flat butt design and having brass furniture. Unmarked with the exception of a proofmark on the lockplate which I have not a freakin’ clue what, when, or where it was from …except that it is no doubt a European military handgun and made in the early 1800s because it has a non-reinforced hammer. Brass nose cap and made without any provision for a rammer. Could well have been an export weapon of the period, or even a trade pistol. But whatever it was, it has very nice metal and wood, both showing almost no wear or usage; very decent overall. VG+ $635
