Circa 1913 this 16 bore game gun, has double triggers, extractors, straight grip stock, and a splinter forearm. The 28” barrels have a concave/smooth slightly tapered solid rib, .665” bores, the chokes measure .005” & .015” constriction and there is .035” nominal wall thickness which indicates that the bores have never been polished. The bores are bright and shiny but there is a slight “ring” in each barrel about ½ way from the breech to the muzzle. There is also evidence that the rib has be re-soldered. The stock has very modern dimensions of 15” LOP to the factory butt plate, 1 3/8” DAC and 2 9/16” DAH with 3/8” right hand cast. Mechanically the gun is very good, with the forearm off the barrels and action you can feel just a little bit of being “off face”. Weight is a mere 5 lbs. 15 oz. and balances nicely between the hands. This is a great 16 bore game gun that will provide years more of hunting use just the way it is. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
