Description:
Serial #C168836, .38 Special, 2” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome, five-screw revolver, made 1948-1952, that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and extractor and retains 98-99% of the original blue finish with only a very mild turn-ring on the cylinder, as well as a few traces of negligible silvering at the muzzle, and along a few of the edges. The trigger and hammer retain nearly all of the original color case-hardening, while the period, genuine mother-of-pearl grips are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The lock-up is tight and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver is housed in a correct, gold and blue, two-piece box that is in very good condition with some edge wear and corner damage. The serial is hard to read on the bottom, but does not match the revolver. This is a great, mid-20th century, K-frame S&W in excellent condition, and would make a wonderful addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
