Description:
Serial #55742, .32 Colt Police, 4" barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is an early, transitional model that has both the "Police/Positive" marking on the right side of the barrel, and the older "New Police" markings on the frame. The metal surfaces of this 1912-made revolver retain about 95% plus of the original bright blue that has started to develop a mild plum-brown patina in spots and has mild silvering at the muzzle and along the projecting edges. Additionally, there is a very light turn ring on the cylinder, while the hammer remains bright with strong fire blue remaining (on the trigger too). The checkered hard rubber Colt grips rate excellent with a few very small chips along the flare at the butt. The lock-up is tight and the revolver functions flawlessly. This is a fine-near excellent example of a rare, Police Positive revolver overall. FFL or C&R
