Description:
Up for is a very nice Colt 1908 Vest Pocket model.
I bought this several years ago and it was in good mechanical shape but the bluing was badly worn and the color case was completely wore away. I make my living as an engraver so I could not let that stand. I put a high quality hand polish on it. I gold inlaid the piece with a pattern inspired by the Browning "gold line" motifs. I had the trigger, back strap safety and thumb safety color cased. I made a pair of mastadon tusk grips for it. (the original plastic grips will come with it). Finally I had a high quality bluing job done on it.
All of this work has been professionally done. The polish is a high quality had finish. I actually, refined the surfaces as I polished to make the corners even more square and crisp than they were fromt he factory. The surface quality of the finish is as perfect as can be done.
The gold inlay work is of the highest quality available. The lines are of consisten width and quality. The edges of the inlays are crips and clean.
The Color case and hot tank bluing were done by Art's Gun Shop of Hillsboro, MO
