Made in 1861, this very nice Colt Navy, serial number 102538, must not have seen much use, since it still retains 90% of its original blue and color case hardened finish, and the varnished, one piece walnut grips are near perfect with almost no wear. All serial numbers match, including the wedge and the rammer, and the cylinde scene is good. All screw heads are very good and all six cylinder safety pins are intact. The front of the cylinder and the chambers are bright, with only minor corrosion, and the bore is bright and appears as new. Overall, this is one of the nicest condition Navy model we have had in some time. A Colt factory letter is generally available in this serial range.
