Description:
Springfield Armory M1 Garand, serial number 30523xx, dates to August 1944. This Garand has a Springfield 1963 barrel with a like new bore and excellent gauge measurements. National Match op rod, other parts are mixed manufacturers, all are described below and shown in pictures. No import marks.

This M1 is in excellent used condition, barely used after rebuild, if used at all. It has a beautiful new walnut stock. 

Two M1 enbloc clips (no ammo) are included, with a canvas sling.

SA M1 sn 30523xx Specs:  

•    Receiver: marked “D 28291 34” on leg, heat lot 073A. Excellent condition, no pitting, refinished probably in the 1960’s, some discolored spots.
•    Barrel: marked “SA6535448 4 63 Y21” with “P”, “M” and small stars and eagle in op rod slot. Bore is bright like new, crown and rifling excellent. External finish nearly perfect.
•    Barrel Gauge Measurements: MW(muzzle wear): 1, TE(throat erosion):  2
•    Lower band: two-piece flat top
•    Clip latch: late square front type, unmarked
•    Op rod: flat side, marked “7790722-RA”, NM (National Match) on handle. NM rods were often used for arsenal rebuilds. Excellent condition, no pitting, finish shows little wear
•    Op rod catch: late type, unmarked
•    Bullet guide: stamped without notch
•    Follower: late type, marked “11”
•    Follower arm: no bevel
•    Follower rod: long fork, riveted
•    Bolt: marked “D28287-12SA S-0 <>”
•    Rear sight base: late SA type, unmarked
•    Sight knobs: T-105 postwar type, elevation marked “HRA”, windage unmarked other than “LEFT” and arrows
•    Rear sight cover: late type with ribs
•    Rear sight aperture: double track, unmarked 
•    Trigger housing:  marked “IHC D6528290” Small pad, cloverleaf hole, no pitting. 
•    Trigger guard: stamped with stamped hook
•    Trigger: late type, no extra hole
•    Hammer: marked “C46008-2 SA”
•    Hammer spring plunger: early type with wings
•    Safety: round top, marked “SA 11”
•    Gas cylinder: wide sight platform, flat on top of rear ring, punch mark on bayonet lug. Gas cylinder group finish very good
•    Front sight: 0.78 wide, unmarked.
  •    Gas cylinder lock: high hump type, unmarked
•    Gas cylinder screw: cross slot poppet valve type, marked “P”
•    Stock and handguards: new, walnut, very tight receiver fit and lockup, finish is multiple coats of linseed oil, aged for several months
•    Sling: used, common postwar type
