Model: Martini Model 12 Serial Number: 45474 (all matching) Year of Manufacture: circa pre1939 Caliber: .22 Long Rifle Action Type: Lever Actuated, Falling Block Single-Shot.: The right side of the barrel ring is marked with a Crown over “BV” proof mark. The right side of the barrel is marked with the Crown over “BV” proof, a Crown over “BP” proof and a Crown over “, “.22L” and “.610”” / “45474”. The left side of the receiver is marked with a BSA logo. The top of the barrel is marked “Made By / The Birmingham Small Arms Co. Ltd. / England / Cartridge 220 Long Rifle”. The top of the barrel at the receiver is marked with the BSA logo. Bottom of barrel is marked JESSOPS FLUID PRESSED STEEL . The trigger group and the falling block marked “45474”. Barrel Length: 29” : . A Parker-Hale Model 7A rear sight with a six position aperture BSA ring is mounted to the rear of the receiver. The ring turns smoothly. The sight is in Very Good condition. A Parker-Hale FS is mounted to the barrel at the muzzle. The sight is in Good to Very Good condition. Stock Configuration & Condition: The two piece smooth hardwood stocks feature a straight grip and a checkered beavertail forend. 2 sling swivel studs are mounted to the underside of the forend and a few other holes are visible in the middle.(possible bipod??) A brass front inset compartmentPICTURE 11 (with extra insert) marked “A.G.P” is fixed to the underside of the forend.. The stocks appear to have original finish. there is a shield cartouche onright side of stock.There are some small holes on top front of the butt stock, near sight, and one on the bottom where there was probably another sling swivel. The buttplate is metal with raised bumps, showing wear on toe & heal, appears to have been specially fitted to the gun with multiple small screws.The stocks rate in about Good + overall original condition . Type of Finish: Blue Finish : All Original Bore Condition: The bore is very good and the rifling is sharp. . Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 85-90% of its ORIGINAL metal finish..Minor Marks,pits , & light scratches are present on the barrel and receiver, but no notable marks into the metal are evident.., handling marks are present on the receiver. The screw heads are moderately deformed, but serviceable. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.for its age. (excellent if it weren't for the holes) PLEASE VIEW ALL PICTURES AS THEY ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION.This excellent pre-war specimen also has a rare accessary~ lever grip extentsion, appears to be bakalite.
