Description:
Parker VHE 20 Gauge Side-by-Side
30" M/F, 6 1/4LBS., NICE CLEAN GUN

General Specs: Parker, Year 1928, 20 Gauge, 6lb 6oz, SxS
Serial Number: 225486

The Parker is the most noted vintage American double shotgun in the world and has more fans than all of the other major makers.  They are wonderful guns with a classic look and were made in fairly high numbers, about 250,000 guns in all.  When looking for a lightweight Parker for upland birds or a casual day on the sporting clays course you will see the Parker VH 20ga. offered for sale quite often, so they are not a rare gun.  In fact, they made about 10,000 of them in all.  So, how do you know which one to buy?  Most all you see will have been altered, or worn thin of finish from hard use, or stocks cut or replaced with after market wood, screws buggered, etc.  Most are the less desirable extractor guns with short barrels.  It is hard to find a VHE 20 gauge with 30” barrels as they only made 943 of them and only 17% had ejectors, or about 160 in all.  All of a sudden this gun just got RARE!  THOSE are the guns that are the most sought after, that will gain in value the most over the years, and bring the most pride of ownership for most buyers.  This Parker, 225486 made in 1928, is unmolested with the exception of the added pad, with 93% dark factory blue, perfect screws, perfect mirror bores, and a stock that is factory original ending in vintage Hawkins pad.  The wood has excellent checkering and nary a split or crack anywhere, and great shooting dimensions.  With the 30" barrels choked M/F, weighing      6 1/4lbs. and balanced ¼” ahead of the hinge pin, it is the perfect upland gun that can also knock down some clay targets when asked to do so.  This is an investment quality Parker and will continue to gain value as you enjoy its use.  You will not be disappointed in this gun, and it is affordably priced.  Thanks for looking!
