Description:
Parker CHE 12 Gauge Side-by-Side Shotgun
HEAVY WATERFOWLER, #2 FRAME, GREAT DIMENSIONS

General Specs: Parker, Year 1924, 12 Gauge, 8lbs 2oz, SxS
Serial Number: 207495

Amongst my shooting companions that embrace double shotguns as their tool of choice,  discussion often covers the subject of weight and balance of a fine side by side.  The opinions soon stratify into those that like lightweight (around 6 lbs. or a little shy of) doubles for long walks and quick shots, and those that like ‘em around 8lbs.  These are the waterfowlers, turkey hunters, pheasant blockers, and especially the sporting clays crowd.  THIS IS THE LATTER GROUP’S TREASURE!  For the marshes of Lake Erie in Ohio, Parker CHE serial numbered 207495 was perfectly built for a life of hard work, while all the while adorned with highly figured walnut stocks “finely checkered”, detailed game scene engraving, and finely struck Acme steel barrels.  Weighing in at 8lbs. 2oz. and balancing dead on the hinge pin, the gun pivots in hand and shoulders as Parkers are famed for.  Well cared for and ready for generations of service, she is easy on the eye as well!  Shipped in 1924 and retaining all original wood, barrels, and parts, this is an investment quality shotgun with less than 900 made with nitro steel barrels.  There is over 65% factory case color, perfect screws, 95% factory charcoal blue on the trigger guard, what appears to be original wood finish (the wood is gorgeous and if you want it restored to perfection it would make the gun pop and it can be done within 8 weeks of purchase for $550), and crisp factory checkering.  The barrels have been expertly rust blued.  The bores are perfect mirrors and the IM/F choked barrels have a minimum wall thickness of 33 thousandths, no dents or dings, original 2 5/8” chambers (can be lengthened to 2 ¾” within 7 days of purchase but not required to shoot 2 ¾” loads.  If you don’t know why, ask), an awesome set of barrels.  Mechanics are in perfect order with strong well timed ejectors, barrels tight on face and hinge pin, crisp triggers, auto safety.  The wood has gorgeous figure and the original skeleton butt plate.  What a find and a grand investment opportunity that will continue to gain value as you enjoy its use.  Thanks for looking!
