Winchester Model 1894 26 inch Octagon Barrel with "TakeDown" feature. The serial number of this rifle is 69041 placing date of manufacture in 1896. The Buffalo Bill Museum "Worksheet" that will accompany this rifle provides the following description at the timme it was shipped from the factory warehouse: Type: Rifle, Caliber: .30, Barrel Type: Octagon, Trigger: Plain, Takedown, No Shipping Information, Received into the Warehouse: October 2nd, 1899, No further information... Overall condition of this rifle is Fine. Barrel and magazine have retained 85% of the original factory blue. The bore is near perfect. The bore is bright and shiny from breech to muzzle. The rifling is strong and will rate a 9 on a 1 to 10 scale. The receiver has retained 75-80% of the original factory blue with a tight, smooth and mechanicall perfect action. Brilliant case colors remain on the hammer and lever. Wood to metal fit is perfect. The stocks have retained 90% of the original factory varnish.
