Description:
Sharps 1863 with 6 groove 22" barrel, Center fire conversion. Markings are present and legible but the New Model 1863 marking on the barrel is a touch weak. Bore rates about a 6 showing complete rifling and normal darkening to the grooves. S/N is in the 79xxx range and doesn't not have the post 100,000 C prefix and is in the first 5,000 of the 1863 new models. The gun lacks inspectors marks and appears to be a State militia purchase, The unit number "11" is stamped on top of the but plate. Mechanically fine and functional. Case colors are mostly faded and barrel is blend of patina/blue. The but stock has a tight repair on the toe. Very nice example
