Clayton Nelson is a custom rifle maker of great notoriety haling from Trinidad Colorado. He has rubbed elbows with the likes of Jack O'Connor, and built rifles for him and other noted rifleman who considered his work amongst the best. He is well known to build great (and expensive) custom bolt rifles, but his real calling was the Farquharson...either really tiny, OR REALLY HUGE! Clayton built one of these single shot rifles in .700 Nitro Express not long ago that sold for $25,000 at . He has created several in 4 bore caliber, another giant of a gun. This gun is unique, as they all are, in that it has 2 barrels matched to the receiver, both giants of their own in .577 NE and .500 NE. The .500NE has an integral scope mount and iron sights, the .577 iron sights only. The gun is in as new condition, with little evidence of use. The bores on both barrels are as new. The rifle weighs in at 15lbs. and is stocked in fine English walnut, including a nearly required Decelerator style of pad. This is a true stopper of any animal walking the earth, and with authority. African dangerous game, elephant, you name it. I spoke to Clayton Nelson regarding this gun and he informed me he is no longer building these behemoths. Now it the time take ownership of a one-of-a-kind rifle by a famous maker. Thanks!
