Description:
Gorgeous 1953 Winchester Model 12 custom pump action shotgun. 12 Gauge, 2 3/4" Chamber, Full Choke, 30" Duckbill Ventilated Rib barrel. Shotgun is in outstanding overall condition with only 2 noteworthy wood blemishes, a small rub on top of wrist and a small chip on underside of wrist. Mechanical function and bore are excellent. The highly figured feather-crotch wood has been expertly checkered and carved in Winchester's 12-B style. The superb quality engraving is of the #5 Winchester pattern. There is a letter included (see attached) which has traveled with the gun since 2007, stating that the work was done by one or both of world renowned Winchester engravers Nick and/or John Kusmit. I have been unable to locate a signature within the pattern, and have received one contradictory but respected opinion stating that the engraving was not done by a Kusmit brother. I have absolutely no idea who actually performed any of the work on wood or metal, so have set what I feel is a fair price considering the exceptional quality components, workmanship and labor.
