Description:
Pre War Winchester Model 70 standard rifle in .30 GOV'T '06 (30-06) caliber. 24" barrel wearing the superb factory rust bluing. S/N 39xxx Mfg. 1941. Rear receiver bridge remains UNDRILLED. The original bluing is in excellent condition overall, with the only notable wear showing on bolt sleeve and a faint outline from a previously attached receiver sight. The wood is also excellent with no significant dents, flaking, gouges, or cracks. There is a trace of oil staining from overzealous cleaning in the receiver's tang area. Mechanical function is flawless, bore is excellent. Unaltered Pre War 70s such as this have become quite difficult to find. This is a good solid example, only 75 years old with another lifetime or 2 of stellar service left in it!
