Description:
Winchester Model 1886 Sporting Rifle .45/70gov't. factory 26 inch Octagon Rapid Taper Barrel. The serial number of this rifle is 1330XX placing date of manufacture in 1904. This rifle is untouched and all factory original. Barrel and magazine have retained 99.9% of the original factory blue. The bore is as new with no evidence of use. The bore will rate a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale. The receiver has 95+% original factory blue with a 1"X 1/4" rub mark located at the upper right rear of the receiver near the hammer. Close examination causes me to consider probable blood mark from bloody thumb or finger? (there are smiths out there that can make this go away). The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. 100% factory case colors remain on the Hammer and Lever. The bolt has also retained 100% of the factory blue. The bolt face is clean of marring and appears unfired! The receivers belly is 100% with no thinning anywhere to be seen in the factory blue. The stock is fancy walnut with a small sliver repair on the upper left forearm, (the repair needs to be redone by a qualified smith)a better job could have been done. Drop dead gorgeous Model 86 in the most popular caliber. This 1886 letters with the Cody Museum. Please phone Tommy at (760)-912-3761 or e-mail all questions and concerns. $40.00 shipping. Insurance will be additional.
