Description:
This 45-70 Gov Remington rolling block single shot rifle has a blued tapered octagon 1-1/16" to 7/8" x 24-2/4" barrel, that is fitted with an adjustable buckhorn rear sight and a blade front sight. The bore is very good. Stamped on the top flat of the barrel is E Remington & Sons Ilion NY. Stamped on the bottom flat of the barrel is 45 Gov. The P grade Walnut butt stock and forend are in good condition and fitted with a steel butt plate. There is a deep gouge 3-1/2" in length running from the tang along the right side of the butt stock, another repaired 1" crack on the right side of the butt stock, and a 1-1/2" crack on the forend. The receiver, trigger guard, tang and butt plate have been color case hardened. Stamped on the right side of the receiver is Patents May 3 1864 May 7 June 11 Nov 12 Dec 24 Dec 31 1872 Sept 9 1873. Length of pull is 13". Please Note: This rifle was customized by a previous owner. Factory wood to metal fit - made by the Remington Arms Co. Condition: Good. Our stock number is #A132.
