Description:
This large frame 10 bore shotgun by W &C Scott (#56777) was probably made well into the transition to Nitro, as it is built on the Anson and Deeley, large frame action typically found on their 8 bore shotguns and its stock dimensions are totally modern. It is chambered for 2 7/8" cartridges and features 32" barrels. Proofed as 11/1 (as shown on the photos), it remains perfectly in proof with mirror-like bores.
It weighs 10 lbs 2 oz and has a 14 1/8" stock length to an original makers butt plate. It is choked .025 in both barrels. The condition of this shotgun is all original with lots of color and charcoal blue. At some point a reinforcing pin must have been placed in the head of the stock, though no cracks or splits are evident at the tangs or action head. This would account for the German Silver triangles inlet into the stock.
