Description:
In the late 80"s and early 90's a wealthy patron of the gunsmithing arts set out to win the American Custom Gunmakers Guild's prize at their Vegas show. Like some people whose goal is to make a trip up "the lawn" at Pebble Beech, this individual commissioned guns from some of America's leading gunsmiths. But not content with any single smiths work, he also sponsored a series of collaborations of America's top gunsmiths that produced some truly remarkable firearms. This miniature  Martini 222 Remingtion is one of them.

The exquisite metal work is by world renowned Robert Snapp, and the amazing stock making is by Maurice Ottmar. The beautiful and tasteful engraving is by Richard Boucher. It's a collaboration that sadly will never be repeated.

The rifle itself is build on a miniature Martini action, extensively (and invisibly) strengthened by Bob Snapp to handle the much higher pressures of the rimless 222 Remington cartridge. It was then fitted by him with a 22" half octagon/half round barrel with a quarter rib with integral scope rings. Maurice then stocked the action in an extravagant classic style that displays every possible example of the stockmakers art, from its ebony tip with its double widow's peak, to its flawless, inset checkering, side panels, single and double shadow lines, heel and toe plates. The list just goes on and on. Finally, Richard, selected an engraving pattern to complement, not compete with, the work of these Master Craftsmen. It's combines complete fine and medium scroll coverage with simple but tasteful gold leaves in the center of the action which are also mirrored in the scope rings. The scope is a new Zeiss 4 X 32 Diatal-C and the LOP is 13 1/2". It weighs just 6 lbs.

Finally, the rifle was cased in a full, best quality light tan leather case by Ian Tomlin, one of England's finest case makers and outfitted with a full complement of accessories by Paul Roberts. All-in-all, it's a remarkable collaboration from some of the finest gunsmiths and artisans that have graced our lives and which, sadly can no longer be repeated.

Priced at $15,000 and irreplaceable!
