Springfield Armory M1 serial number 58397xx, manufactured about 1955. Springfield barrel dated May 1955 with a bright bore and excellent gauge measurements. All marked parts are Springfield, all are described below and shown in photos. No import marks. This rifle is in excellent used condition.
We test fired this Garand and it shoots great, cycling through a full clip, ejecting the clip at the end.
Sling, two M1 enbloc clips (no ammo) and canvas bandolier are included.

SA M1 sn 58397xx Specs:
- Receiver: marked “F 6528291” on leg, heat lot T1. Excellent condition, very little finish wear.
- Barrel: marked “SA F6535448 5 55 ,D 50” in op rod slot, also marked “P” two times, one with a punch mark, “M”, and small stars and eagle. Bore is bright like new. Chrome pads at gas port. External finish nearly new condition, chamber is in the white.
- Barrel Gauge Measurements: MW (Muzzle Wear): ½, TE (Throat Erosion): 2
- Lower band: 2-piece flat top with roll pin
- Clip latch: late square front type, unmarked
- Op rod: flat side marked “6535382 SA”. Exc condition, some finish wear
- Op rod catch: late type, unmarked
- Bullet guide: stamped with notch, unmarked
- Follower: late type, marked “12”
- Follower arm: no bevel
- Follower rod: long fork, riveted
- Bolt: marked “6528287-SA A-10”
- Firing pin: half round, no chrome tip
- Sight knobs: T105 postwar type, elevation marked “SSH”, windage marked “DRC”.
- Rear sight cover: late type with ribs
- Rear sight aperture: double track, unmarked
- Trigger housing: marked “6528290-SA” Small pad, cloverleaf hole
- Trigger guard: stamped with milled hook
- Trigger: late type, no extra hole
- Hammer: marked “SA D5546008”
- Hammer spring plunger: late type without wings
- Safety: round top, unmarked
- Gas cylinder: wide sight platform, flat on top of rear ring, unmarked. Gas cylinder group finish in very good condition
- Front sight: 0.66 wide, unmarked.
- Gas cylinder lock: high hump type, unmarked
- Gas cylinder screw: cross slot poppet valve type, marked “T PAX”
- Stock: walnut, has circled “P” on pistol grip, DAS on left side, appears to be SA. No cracks, fewer than average dings/gouges, very nice appearance, but not original finish.
- Buttplate: square plunger type, good condition with finish wear
- Handguards: walnut, no cracks, same condition as stock and good color match
- Sling: web, appears to be common postwar type
