This scarce little cutie just walked in. For the serious collector there are winners and the rest just don't count. This one gets the "Gold". With at the very worst between 98-99%of the original Parkerizing remaining. The only loss is due to very slight muzzle wear, some thinning on the barrel from holster wear and some very slight silvering of the sharp edges.
This gun, I venture, sat out WWII in a desk some where. Not a scratch, rust pit or flake any anywhere. And the cylinder drag ring is almost imperceptible. The barrel, frame and cylinder are stamped V 1950XX. The left top strap is correctly marked "U.S.Navy".
The walnut grips are the only flaw. The right panel seems to have several very slight surface dings. The left panel is perfect.. All screws are unmarred.
The chambers, cylinder face, recoil shield and force cone show no use. The bore, like the rest of the gun, also shows no use. The rifling is mirror bright and razor sharp without a trace of frosting.
Right down to the lanyard ring this gun is collector's dream....$895
