The rifle was named after Civil War general Ambrose Burnside. They are a percussion, breech-loading rifle that fired a cartridge with a copper and foil casing. The barrel measures 21 inches. Two crisp cartouches are present. Approximately 40% of the case colors remain on the receiver and 80% of the bluing on the barrel, which is starting to thin. There is a brilliant blue on the breech block and lever. The gun is absolutely mint, with a shiny bore and crisp rifling. All numbers match.
