"SEMPERT & KRIEGOFF "NEPTUNE LEXUS" HAND-DETACHABLE SIDELOCK DRILLING WITH SCOPE. & Long Rifle Insert. SN #15855. Cal. 12 x 12 x 8x57R + .22 Long Rifle Insert.
21-3/4" Mono-bloc bbls are fitted wit full length stippled rib, which is sighted with pop-up enamaled rear sight,actuated when rifle bbl is selected,as well as a flip-up blade.Rear portion is fitted with Kreigoff's dovetailed mounting system for Weaver K-4 Scope with cross hair reticle in custom steel rings. Bbls are marked makers name and steel type. Bottoms of bbls are stamped with German proofs with date of 8/33. Original blued action features hand detachable sidelocks with hidden takedown pin with hinged toggle on left lockplate, flip-up lollipop tang sight, detachable rifle lock work with takedown screw at bottom and leaver at grip secured by swiveling grip cap. Action also features side clips, crossbolt third fastner, raised rob tumbler end cocking indicators, and double triggers(front set). Internals are Gold-plated. Action and lockplates are engraved with full coverage relief oak branches, leaves, and acorns. Banner on bottom of action is engraved "KRIEGHOFF - DRILLING" and "NEPTUNE - LUXUS" Cocking leaver for rifle is at left side of horn trigger guard, which has inlet sheild on bow, Gold-inlaid "Dr.H". Beautifully fiddle figured and well streaked dark European walnut horn capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14" over ribbed horn buttplate, which is attached to 3/8" thick removable section covering recesses in butt for cartridges and .22 LR bbl insert. These are accessed by screw with coin slot at center of buttplate which releases with 1/4 turn. Matching .22 LR insert is marked
"SEMPERT & KRIEGOFF". Stock features slightly hog-backed comb, point pattern checkering, and shallow line right hand cheekpiece. Matcking splinter forend has inlet horn tip and Deeley release.
