Payment Types Accepted: VISA/MASTERCARD/DISCOVER/CERTIFIED CHECK/MONEY ORDER Description: Spectacular commemorative piece, in like new condition, never fired!!  This M1 Garand rifle was intended for show and ceremonial purposes, such as parades and memorial services.  It fits the part, with a glossy wood finish, a gold commemorative seal on the stock, and brass hardware including strap rings, trigger, and sights. The American Historical Foundation issued this limited edition rifle, "IN HONOR OF WORLD WAR II VICTORY, IN LASTING MEMORY OF THOSE WHO SERVED, U.S.," as stated on the gold seal.  You can see in the photos that the wood grain has a rippled pattern, called quilting.  This is a very fine wood and gives the gun a beautiful look. The WWII M1 Garand is accompanied by its original wood and glass display case with a burgundy velvet lining and brass commemorative plaque, which reads: WORLD WAR II COMMEMORATIVE M1 GARAND LIMITED EDITION ISSUED BY THE AMERICAN HISTORICAL FOUNDATION MADE BY SPRINGFIELD ARMORY, INC. The case is in fair to good condition, not like new. However, fitted especially for this gun with elastic straps to hold the M1 in place, it has served its purpose; keeping the Garand almost flawless.  The wear on this gun consists primarily of a few marks where the USMC leather strap and brass rings have rubbed against the wood over the years.  There is also one small blemish in the finish just below the rear sight and eagle engraving.  It can barely be seen in the photographs as a smidge of slightly lighter color in the wood.   A fantastic ceremonial gun, collector's piece, or memorial rifle to honor a beloved veteran.  Purchase also includes a small snap on military pouch which reads, "U.S. E.A.
