Walther Mdl. 2 Semi-Auto/ Bolt Action Rifle Cal. .22 LR.
What a clever idea, the bolt is spring loaded in the rear. Leave the bolt handle up and the gun is a semi-auto. Leave it down and you have a bolt action rifle. The condition of this 1935-36 gun is about as good as you can ask for.
The blue finish appears to be about 95-96%. With the usual loss from sharp edge silvering and some thinning in the handled areas. There is no rust, or scratches anywhere. The gun utilizes the Mauser flip safety system and all parts seem to lock up tightly and function properly.
At some point the previous owner added a Parker Hale set of scope mounts. The threaded barrel and thread protector appear to be factory special order. It is also import marked.
The nicely grained light wood stock has a beautiful coat of clear lacquer. There are no nicks dings or splits anywhere. A set of Parker Hale scope mounts has been installed that would be rather easy to remove should the buyer want to do so.
The barrel is mirror bright with razor sharp rifling. Not a hint of frost. The gun comes with one 5 round magazine, (spare magazines are available).
It also has a leather European type carry sling. What a gem for the Walther collector or the chap who appreciates the super accuracy of a famous German manufacturer.....$995.
