The rifle’ s serial number is S33, and I wish this rifle could talk. It was well built and is in a handy caliber for deer and black bear out to about 200 yards. Bullets for reloading or ammo for shooting are available through Buffalo Arms in Idaho. Dies and some brass will go with the rifle. Now for the interesting part: This rifle’s scope is in Claw Mounts that were likely installed on the rifle during the Second World War. The scope is very unique. It is a Soviet sniper scope that was built under secret contract by the Germans for the Russians in years just before the war began. It appears that the German hunter/serviceman managed to acquire this Russian scope during the war years, and sent it to his gunsmith to be mounted on his favorite hunting rifle. This was “the” scope of its day and was very well made. (The scope alone sells for an easy thousand dollars today) I think its very likely a GI brought this rifle back from Germany. Credit cards add 3%, we offer a 3 day non-firing inspection period. Must ship to an FFL and shipping is $40. Thanks for looking. Strength and Honor! BR SOLD |
