OFF-HAND RIFLE CIRCA 1880’S. Rare two stage 29” round No. 3 barrel with Rigby panels at the breech stamped .3255 on the underside forward of the forend possibly for the bore diameter. Scope blocks, globe insert front and Vernier tang sights. Factory double set triggers which are assembly numbered and not serial numbered. Scroll engraved frame with game scene panels on both sides very probably engraved by noted engraver Conrad Ulrich who was working for Marlin at the time. Deluxe walnut checkered stock and forend with Swiss butt plate. Fine overall with 90% barrel blue with some minor dotting of salt and pepper. Frame with traces of case colors mixed with deep grey patina. Hammer and breech block with considerable case colors. Stock and forend with the original finish and crisp checkering.
