SCARCE REMINGTON U.S. NAVY MODEL 1867 ROLLING BLOCK .50 CF CAL. PISTOL CIRCA EARLY 1870’S. All original and with the correct U.S.N. inspection markings. 7” barrel stamped at breech “I/J.M.B.C./ANCHOR”. Frame stamped “P/F.C.W.” on right side. Serial number on barrel forward of the forend in the 4,xxx range. Very good overall with excellent markings. Metal with nice grey patina and wood with the original finish and crisp inspector’s initials (C.E.H.) on the side of the forend. Left side of frame with Remington address and 1864 and 1866 patent dates. Petrfect working order and very good bore with excellent rifling. Scarce with only about 5000 made. With 39 brass cartridge cases of modern manufacture.
