Description:
WW2 BRINGBACK JAPANESE EDO PERIOD WAKIZASHI TSUKA SHORT SWORD. Matching iron fuchi/kashira with gilded blossom accents. Two different shishi or foo-dog menuki of same Edo period. One dog running and opposite two dogs facing each other while running in same direction. Original cloth wrap. Original sharksin under that with slight loss. 35cm blade with faint Hamon. Shape and curve of blade suggests Hira-zukuri style possibly. Iron tsuba with copper band around that. Tang has no signature that we can see with one hole. Scabbard with black jappaned lacquer missing utensil. Brought back by Coast Guard member who was stationed off Guam along with Edo period Katana also in our inventory. Have name of GI.
