Description:
This 20 bore double barreled shotgun started out in life as a flintlock and then converted to percussion probably by Joseph Manton some years later. This is truly a fine example of Manton's craftsmanship and innovative design features. In my opinion this has not undergone any major refurbishments during its life in fact shows very little sign of continued use. As to be expected there are a few minor blemishes to the walnut stock and the odd light surface scratch and rubbing to the engraved metal parts.
With the absence of metal corrosion and damage caused by rough handling and neglected maintainence this will prove to be an attractive acquisition for the discerning collector.

The mahogany case is in remarkable condition with only the odd bruise and nibble.Fully lined in green baize with the compartments made to house the shotgun parts snugly. Campaign recessed carrying handle and a much later modified key.
This cased shotgun does not come with either a ramrod nor accessories.

A servicable shotgun.
