Here is an antique scarce find in the powerful 45-90 caliber. Born in 1894 this is one of the cleanest tightest 1886s I have ever owned. The 45-90 is not ONLY desirable for its reputation as a powerhouse but as a dual caliber gun that will chamber and safely shoot the ever popular 45-70 cal as well. It has some rather attractive well figured fancy wood with only miner handling marks. It is in the classic cowboy style of a full magazine crescent butt and octagon barrel. The bore is a bright pristine solid 10. The action is tight and crisp indicating little use and good maintenance. The barrel and mag tube is original bright blue at about 100%. All markings are crisp sharp and clear. The only cosmetic part of the piece that is not original is the case which was redone well before I bought the gun some 35 years ago. There is no sign whatsoever of polishing on the cased parts and it could very well be taken to be original expect that the man I bought it from told me it had been restored. It has a two tone nickel front sight and a very nice full buckhorn KING”S rear sight. It also has a CORRECT original 1886 long staff tang sight that is as clean as they get. Today that sight would go for near $500. Will include a couple boxes of ammo as well. This 86 is as clean as they get! I offer a 3 day non-firing inspection for total satisfaction.
