I have owned several of this model – but this the nicest LT WT 45-70 TD I have ever seen. In extremely high original condition and ‘born’ in 1898 – this one has iI all. Teardrop Shotgun butt and marked ‘NS’ so that it can use modern smokeless loads powerful enough for any big game in America. About 100% of the wood finish with only few minor handling marks– a bright like new bore – about 97-98% of barrel and mag tube blue. The only blue wear being carry wear on the bottom of the receiver beginning to thin and patina slightly. The balance of the blue being an original bright 95%+ %! The hammer and lever still have some case with the silver gold and blue left but not just cloud or dove grey. These later antique LT WT models seemed to have less bright reds and greens for some reason. This gorgeous prize is in an expensive custom fitted antique hard leather bound strapped case with combo lock and brass fittings. The action is as crisp and snappy as it was when brand new. It has had some use but a lot of TLC obviously. The deluxe lined case also has a false bottom with removable tray which reveals more neat items. There is genuine Winchester antique reloading tool – An antique combination needle oiler and cleaning accessory storage tube – a complete set of heavt duty brass cleaning rods with various period brush , bronze, and patch holder tips – a full box of older ammo and an empty display antique ammo box.
