Description:
Established by Charles Parker shortly after the Civil War, this company has produced a wide variety of shotguns in different styles over the years. Parker shotguns are perhaps the best known of all American shotguns manufactured and are among the most collectable. Parker manufactured only approximately 167 AH Grade shotguns, 92 of which were 12 gauge. This shotgun was manufactured in 1897, and features blue barrels and trigger guard, and casehardened remaining parts. The concave matte solid rib has an extension, two bead sights and is marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN, CT. U.S.A. ACME. STEEL" with inward pointing arrows at each end. Chambered for 2 3/4 inch shells, choked improved cylinder/modified with an extractor. The action, trigger guard, forearm hardware and break lever are engraved with floral scroll patterns. Amid the engraving on each side of the action are hunting dogs in a field scene and engraved "PARKER BROS" in a banner. The underside of the action has deer in a field scene directly ahead of the trigger guard and a field scene with a hunting dog at the front. There are two hunting dogs on the trigger guard. The water table is marked with the two-line, four patent dates on the right side and "6/89566/A" on the left side. Tang mounted automatic safety and gold double triggers. Mounted with a checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with checkered Fleur-de-Lis flats, grip cap and engraved skeletonized buttplate with checkered bare butt.  Bore diameter: R- .742 L- .740, bore constriction: R- .025 L- .023, min. bbl thickness: R- .034 L- .030, length of pull: 14 3/8 inches, drop at comb: 1 1/2 inches, drop at heel: 2 inches, weight: 7lbs 7oz.
