Description:
SOLD..Antique Smith & Wesson 2nd model SA. Here is yet another excellent little Smith & Wesson 2nd model SA. Has the standard 3 1/4" barrel. In the  .38 S&W black powder caliber. S/N 14161 and all matching of course. This gun has quite a bit of original finish. The barrel has about 85% nickel finish. The frame has about 90% and the cylinder at about 90% as well. The finish is a little cloudy as you can see and could stand to be lightly polished if so desired but I am not touching it. NO pitting on the gun anywhere.. All the markings are excellent... The barrel latch and trigger retain about 30% blue. The hammer has very good case colors just starting to fade a little but can still see the colors. The mechanics are excellent. Crisp and tight as a new gun. Rock solid barrel to frame fit at the latch and the hinge. Excellent un touched front sight. The screws are good and show some turning but not all burred up from tinkering. The grips are excellent. Still show the fine checkering and a perfect factory fit. Has one very small and tight crack on the bottom right grip and is hard to see and not very noticeable at all and does not detract from the gun. NO other cracks , chips or issues. The bore is very nice with strong rifling and some shine with very minor specks of roughness. NO big pits. The chambers are excellent with no roughness at all. Just a very nice and honest little Smith with quite a bit of original nickel finish for the money. Priced very reasonable. These little Smiths are getting harder to find with lots of finish that I can sell for $500!!! $15 insured shipping. Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos. Please check out my other quality antique firearms I have listed before they are gone !!!
