Description:
NSN, 12mm Pinfire, 6 1/4” barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some minor freckling and light pitting in a few spots along its length. This is an attractive, engraved revolver that has Liege proofs and retains 50-60% of the original blue finish, mostly on the barrel and cylinder, with an overall mottled plum-brown patina on the balance, and about 75% of the original straw color remaining on the trigger and hammer (now mottled a bit with freckling). The revolver is maker marked on the left side of the barrel breech with a bee having the letters “D” and “L” on the wings. This is the trademark for the firm of Dresse-Laloux, one of the Liege firms that eventually amalgamated into FN. The finely checkered walnut grips are original and are in fine shape with only light handling marks and small blemishes throughout as well as some minor flattening of the points on either side. Mechanically, the revolver is in excellent condition with a tight lock-up and fully functional action, although the ejector rod is somewhat bent and will not currently function. This is a handsome example of a big bore pinfire revolver, in very good-near fine condition, and would make a nice addition to any collection. {“Systeme Lefaucheux” by Chris C. Curtis; 2002} Antique
