SPECIAL ORDER LONG BARREL 1889, .38-40 WITH 28" OCTAGON BARREL AND BRIGHT EXCELLENT SHARP BORE!, MADE 1890, of the 55,072 1889s made only 2,268 were made with 28" barrels (this includes all calibers), fine lightly aged barrel blue, receiver mostly gray/brown with blue in the protected areas and on the loading gate, original buckhorn rear sight with Rocky Mountain blade front sight (looks like the blade is in backwards), fine wood that looks like it has been lightly gone over at some time, but solid,, tight action, whoever owned this rifle used it, but sure took care of the inside! Rare special order variation with an amazing bore!
