This is a lovely Wartime/Commercial with about 96-97% of the original wartime matte blue finish. The loss is primarily due to the usual muzzle and sharp edge silvering, but there is surprisingly little of it. The gripstraps have grayed slightly and there is the usual rub mark on the stock lug and lanyard ring. There are no rub marks, pits or rust anywhere. The extractor, locking bolt, sight slide, and safety retain about 90% of the original fire blue. The "in the white parts", bolt, hammer and graduated rear sight have not grayed. All numbered parts match including the grips. The hammer has the proper "New Safety" mark. The receiver group is stamped on the left Crown/U and on the right Crown/W. The wooden grips have the correct 36 striations and retain about 90% of the original factory lacquer. The right grip does have a few nicks that are obvious in the picture. The bolt face and feed ramp show very little use. The bore is great. The rifling is very sharp and crisp with just the slightest hint of graying. This has rig seen very little use. The holster stock is numbered 107. The condition is really nice with an attractive wood grain. First, it has none of the usual age splits. All the hardware is complete with no screws missing, and the top is not warped. It does show some surface dings but no chip or gouges. It locks up tight on the gun without the wobble sometimes found. It would be difficult to find a better looking rig, and the gun should be super on the range or at a re-enactment.......$3595.
