This is an Allin Conversion model 1866 that has been "sporterized" to an overall length of 37". Bbl is 18-1/4". Cal 50-70. Bbl has a nice antique look to it. Pin prick pitting but really looks the part. Breech block is dated 1866. The lock plate is dated 1864 with the US Springfield marking and the Eagle and Shield. The gun has been shortened and flattened out along the bottom making a cool looking short rifle. Leather lacing holds the forearm on to the bbl. Buttstock has been cut off and has no buttplate. No Indian gun would be complete without many many tacks. They are old but not quite Old West Indian days old. Action works and it has a surprisingly good bore. A cute little gun!
