The 24" Springfield Armory barrel is dated 10-32 with bright excellent bore.
This early rifle retains about 80% original parkerizing blending with a dull plum-brown patina, most noticeably around the receiver ring and forward portion of the barrel. The bolt is matching numbered to the gun and exhibits dark freckling overall with some pinprick pitting on the knob and on the shroud; features the adjustable style lug with the Armory-installed lead seal in place to prevent tampering with the headspace adjustment.
The triggerguard and floorplate are brown overall with pinprick pitting throughout. The oil finished service issue-style type B walnut stock was lightly boned at some point and has a fine military oil finish with sparsely scattered very light handling marks.
There is a nice stamped sheet metal front sight protector in place covering the standard front sight and a correct Lyman 48 receiver sight is in place on the rear ring. A single M2 magazine is included and the rifle rates very good plus condition overall.
